Gastrointestinal Cancer Program

The Marin Cancer Institute offers a comprehensive program for the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of gastrointestinal cancer - the fourth highest diagnosed cancer in Marin.

Gastrointestinal cancers may include the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, colon, rectum and anus.

The quality of care and the technology we provide is equivalent to
that of a university center, but with the personalized service associated with the finest community hospitals.

High level of patient care - with a personal touch
For most people diagnosed with gastrointestinal cancer, the challenge for the patients and the healthcare team is to coordinate and implement complex diagnostic and treatment plans that involve a multi-disciplinary team (gastroenterologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists and medical oncologists). The sequence of these tests is complex, so scheduling and coordination of pre-surgical work-up is a vital part of this program.

The care you will receive at our program will be provided by board certified physicians who specialize in gastrointestinal imaging, surgery, pathology, radiation oncology and medical oncology.

They provide the best available treatments, use state-of-the-art equipment and offer access to investigational therapies through national clinical trials. Many of our physicians are nationally recognized for their expertise and cutting-edge approaches.

Our treating physicians have a committed relationship with each patient, staying attentive to the medical and psychosocial needs of each person. They coordinate and collaborate with the entire team of providers to achieve the best possible care and outcome for each patient using evidence-based practices.
