Chun C. Li, Ph.D., Chief Clinical Physicist/Director, Radiation Oncology Dr. Li received his Ph.D. degree from Northwestern University, and completed his post-doctoral medical physics training at the University of Chicago, where he served as a member of faculty before coming to Marin Cancer Institute. Dr. Li is certified in the specialty of radiation oncology physics by American Board of Radiology (ABR), and by American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP). He also holds a master’s degree in business administration. Dr. Li has supervised the clinical treatment team at the MCI Radiation Oncology Department since 1993. Most recently, he led the department through a successful major renovation project with two new linear accelerators. The highly sophisticated radiation treatments now offered to cancer patients include Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), and Image-Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT). His clinical focus is on the continued introduction and implementation of world-class radiation treatments for the care of patients in Marin. |

Cynthia A. Cantril, RN, OCN, MPH, Breast Health Program
Coordinator, Nurse Navigator Cindi is a certified cancer nurse with over 30 years of nursing experience in surgical, medical and radiation oncology. A national leader in oncology nursing, she has developed cancer recovery programs in Montana and is actively involved with national cancer organizations. She was recruited to MCI in 2004 to develop and coordinate an expanded breast health program. Cindi serves as overall Program Coordinator and is also the lead Nurse Navigator, helping guide patients through their care. In addition, she facilitates support groups and conducts a variety of recovery programs. She brought the Healing with Horses equine therapy program to Marin County. Cindi received her nursing and bachelor degrees from Meramec Community College (Missouri) and a Masters of Public Health from the University of California (Berkeley). |

Jenny Shaw, CTR, Manager, Cancer Registry at MCI Jenny is a Certified Tumor Registrar who has been with Marin Cancer Institute for over 6 years. Jenny provides excellent management and administrative support for the center and also brings her extensive organizational skills to the program. Jenny returned to work at the Marin Cancer Institute in 2002 after taking time off to raise her children. Jenny is a member of NCRA and CCRA. “You cannot put a price on the satisfaction of working in an environment that is dedicated to caring for patients going through cancer treatment. It's a job where you get to 'share' with patients and in doing that, recognize the importance of our work here.” |

Diane Brandon, Cancer Resource Specialist, Cancer Resource & Recovery, MCI Center “More than five years after my own cancer diagnosis, I am privileged to work with those who are in search of resources and information. I remind people that I don’t know everything- but I know the people who do. My goal here is to reach out to those who are newly diagnosed and in treatment, so that they won’t ever have to say what I said five years ago:

Sandy Schindler, LCSW, Social Worker As MCI’s social worker, Sandy sees patients and families both individually and together, and provides consultation to staff and physicians regarding the patient’s/family’s special needs. Sandy is a licensed clinical social worker, and has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospital oncology units, psychiatric departments, and emergency departments. She has facilitated the Northbay Cancer Support group for over 6 years, and has also had a private psychotherapy practice for over 20 years. She has worked at MCI since 2005. Sandy received her masters of social work degree from the University of California (Berkeley). “It has always been my goal to enable people to live their lives with dignity and grace, and to help them embrace their challenges- whether medical or personal. Because I have lost some of my own family to cancer, I am especially committed to providing compassion and strength to those affected by this life-changing experience. Providing emotional support and coping skills to people facing cancer is both professionally and personally rewarding.” |

Jeannine Vitali-Schulz, RD, Oncology Dietician As the Oncology Dietician for the Marin Cancer Institute, Jeannine specializes in providing nutrition support to cancer patients. A registered dietician, she has lectured extensively on the topic of Nutrition and Cancer. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition at the University of California (Davis) and her dietetic internship at the University of California (San Francisco). She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, Oncology Nutrition Dietetics Practice Group and several other professional societies. Jeannine joined MCI in 1989. |
