“I had just started my specialty training in oncology when I lost my husband to cancer. That experience – like no other – allowed me to experience what a cancer patient has to go through. It inspired me to be the best doctor I could be, not just by knowing technically what to do, but also by understanding the breadth of difficulties a person faces when given the diagnosis of cancer. I find my patients inspiring – I learn from them and admire them every day.”
