Gary Grossfeld, M.D., Surgeon, Medical Director, Prostate Cancer Program
Dr. Grossfeld is the Medical Director of the Prostate/Genitourinary Cancer
Program at MCI. His clinical and research interests have focused on the
diagnosis and treatment of prostate, bladder and kidney cancer. He has
authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on these subjects,
and was co-editor of the American Cancer Society book on Prostate Cancer.
He received his medical degree at the University of Southern California,
where he graduated with top honors. He completed a residency in urology
at USC and a sub-specialty fellowship in urologic oncology at the University
of California (San Francisco), where he was an Assistant Professor in
urology. Dr. Grossfeld joined the MGH staff in May 2003.

Paul W. Wasserstein, M.D., Pathologist
A native of New York, pathologist Paul Wasserstein received his medical education at The State University of New York – Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, and completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Mt. Zion Hospital & Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Wasserstein has published several peer-reviewed articles, was a former Chief of Staff of Marin General Hospital, and is currently Medical Director of Marin General and Novato Community Hospital Laboratories. |

Lloyd Miyawaki, M.D., MCI Medical Director, Radiation
Oncologist
Hawaii native Lloyd Miyawaki joined the Marin Cancer Institute in 1997,
and is Medical Director of MCI as well as the MCI Radiation Oncology Department.
Dr. Miyawaki received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University,
before receiving his medical degree from UCSF and a Masters of Public Health
from the University of California (Berkeley). He did his specialty training
at UCSF. He is board certified in radiation oncology and is affiliated with
the Seattle Prostate Institute and the PRO+QURA prostate brachytherapy quality
assurance program. Dr. Miyawaki is also Assistant Clinical Professor at
the University of California (San Francisco). |

David Gullion, M.D., Medical Oncologist, Hematologist
Dr. Gullion has practiced medical oncology and hematology for 30+ years
and is board-certified in medical oncology and hematology as well as internal
medicine. He received his medical degree from the College of Physicians
and Surgeons at Columbia University (New York) and completed his residency
at the University of California (San Francisco), where he was chief resident.
He received advanced training in medical oncology at the National Cancer
Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. Following 20 years at UCSF, he joined the
private practice of California Cancer Care, where he developed the Integrative
Oncology Program, which focuses on supporting patients with complementary
therapies. He has been involved in over 200 clinical research trials. Dr.
Gullion is a member of the Marin General Hospital and Novato Community Hospital
medical staffs.

Alex S. Metzger, M.D., Medical Oncologist
Dr. Metzger joined California Cancer Care in July of 2006 and is enthusiastic
about providing quality evidence-based oncologic and hematologic care with
commitment and compassion. Originally from Maine, Dr. Metzger did his undergraduate
work at Columbia University followed by medical school at Jefferson Medical
College in Philadelphia. Internal Medicine training was conducted at Thomas
Jefferson University Hospital and completed at the University of California
(Davis). It is at UC Davis that Dr. Metzger graduated from his fellowship
in hematology and oncology. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor
Society and has been recognized by his peers for his humanity and ethical
approach to medicine. |

Stan Rosenfeld, Prostate Cancer Survivor and Patient
Advocate/Educator
Stan Rosenfeld was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1997. Since that time,
he has dedicated himself to educating men about reducing their risk and
the importance of early detection, and to providing guidance to patients
who are making decisions about their treatment. He is a founding member
of the University of California (San Francisco) Prostate Cancer Advocate
Core Group and is an advocate representative for the National Cancer Institute's
Special Projects of Research Excellence (SPORE). He is also on the Board
of Directors of the California Prostate Cancer Coalition and serves in several
leadership positions of the American Cancer Society, including chairing
the West Bay Prostate Cancer Initiative. Stan facilitates a weekly support
group at MGH for men with prostate cancer and is available to participate
in MCI's Prostate Patient Care Conferences to offer the patient perspective.
