Support & Hope

Marin Cancer Institute's network of support groups and services provides an outstanding and very important addition to every
patient’s treatment and recovery process. Services and groups
range from general ones that are open to all, to more unique
and diversified options for patients with specific types of cancer.

Understanding the significance of spousal and family support throughout cancer's life-changing effects, we even offer special programs that include the patient's family by educating them, involving them in the patient's treatment decisions, and offering support groups that help loved ones deal with their new roles as caregivers.

Services for All
Several of MCI's special services that are available to all patients are:
  • Cancer Resource & Recovery Center
A hub of information & support, The Center offers an array of educational materials including access to medical books and journals, an Internet search station, and more. Patients and families can also stop by for a cup of tea while waiting for a support group to begin, or just sit and talk to one of the many helpful members of the MCI support staff. Call (415) 925-7920.

  • Counseling
All patients receiving care from The Marin Cancer Institute are eligible to receive individual, group, and family counseling as necessary. This type of psychological support is a powerful coping tool pre-treatment, during treatment, and throughout the recovery process.

  • Support from the Institute for Health & Healing
The Institute provides holistic care services including massage, guided imagery, support groups, nutrition consultations, and unique recovery programs. Services range in cost from free to low-cost.

  • Nutritional Counseling is offered by MCI Oncology Dietitians.
